CARE
CHOPIT boards have been designed with durability and daily use in mind.
To help maintain the longevity of your chopping board, please view our care guidelines below.
Note: We recommend washing your CHOPIT board with warm soapy water before first use. This will help remove any dust or debris that may have accumulated during shipping.
HEAT CAUTIONS
To ensure the longevity of your CHOPIT board, please keep it away from direct heat sources, such as flames, radiators or hot surfaces. Avoid placing hot pans, dishes or appliances directly onto your CHOPIT board. Like any plastic, heat will cause the board to melt.
DISHWASHER SAFETY
If you have a conventional dishwasher, your CHOPIT board is dishwasher compatible. CHOPIT boards can handle heat - up to 80 degrees celsius. If you are concerned about your board warping, place you board on the top rack of your dishwasher - where its a bit cooler.
If you have a commercial dishwasher, with heat exceeding 80 degrees celsius, we recommend hand washing your CHOPIT board.
Please note that the Breadboard is prone to warping in the dishwasher. We recommend you hand-wash Baguette, the Breadboard, to avoid warping and extend longevity.
PROPER CARE
To maintain cleanliness and durability of your CHOPIT board, we recommend deep cleaning your board monthly. This will prevent any buildup of grime or bacteria.
Deep clean recipe: sprinkle 1 tbsp of baking soda & 1 tbsp of table salt evenly across the surface of your board. Use 1/2 a lemon to scrub the mixture into the board, applying gentle pressure and squeezing some lemon juice to create a paste-like consistency. Allow the paste to rest on the board for 3 minutes before rinsing off and drying with a towel.
By following this routine, you can remove many stubborn stains from your board and help extend the life of your CHOPIT board!
CHOPPING SAFETY
To prevent your CHOPIT board from moving on shiny surfaced bench tops, we recommend placing a damp tea towel underneath your chopping board. This will stabilise the board and create a secure surface for cutting.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Like all chopping boards, the knife-friendly surface of your CHOPIT board will develop marks and scratches over time. This is a natural outcome caused by the repeated interaction of knives and other kitchen utensils.
