ARE THE CHOPIT BOARDS DISHWASHER SAFE?
If you have a conventional dishwasher, your CHOPIT board is dishwasher compatible. CHOPIT boards can handle heat - up to 80 degrees celsius. If you are concerned about your board warping, place you board on the top rack of your dishwasher - where its a bit cooler.
If you have a commercial dishwasher, with heat exceeding 80 degrees celsius, we recommend hand washing your CHOPIT board.
Please note that the Breadboard is prone to warping in the dishwasher. We recommend you hand-wash Baguette, the Breadboard, to avoid warping and extend longevity.
IS MY CHOPIT BOARD HEATPROOF?
To ensure the longevity of your CHOPIT board, please keep it away from direct heat sources, such as flames, radiators or hot surfaces. Avoid placing hot pans, dishes or appliances directly onto your CHOPIT board. Like any plastic, heat will cause the board to melt.
ARE CHOPIT BOARDS MADE FROM RECYCLED PLASTICS?
YES. At CHOPIT, we believe in a sustainable future. We know plastic chopping boards are the most convenient solution to chop on, given they are mould resistant, low maintenance and dishwasher safe enabling an easy clean-up.
CHOPIT boards are manufactured from 100% Pre-consumer scrap, this allows our boards to be fully recycled plastic material.
WHAT IS PRE-CONSUMER RECYCLED PLASTIC?
In brief, there are two common recycling methods;
1) Pre-consumer recycling, which refers to the waste material leftover in manufacturing facilities
2) Post-consumer recycling, which refers to the recycled material after the end-user has interacted with it
At CHOPIT, we utilise the pre-consumer recycling method. By using this method, we are able to use the scrap material from manufacturers, before the product has reached the consumer. This ensures the plastic is food safe and free from nasty chemicals whilst maintaining integrity towards our sustainability goals.
